- Choose a space that you can use and has room to put things on it
- Select items for your altar that make you happy, remind you of God, and make you feel loved such as a cross, rosary beads, candles, flowers, stones, pictures, feathers, rocks, plants, fruit, statues
- Arrange your altar in a way that makes you feel at peace
- Bless your space by saying a prayer and/or singing a song. Imagine that God is smiling upon this space as you smile upon it
- Spend time with your altar daily! It can be as simple as looking at it in passing or simply touching an item on it for a moment
